The Cobi building set faithfully recreates the German BR 52 freight steam locomotive (DRB Class 52 / Ty2) – an iconic machine that became famous throughout Europe during World War II. The model stands out with detailed prints featuring symbols, numbering, and markings, as well as a finely crafted engine room. Thanks to the easily removable roof, you can look inside and inspect the faithfully reproduced instruments and drive components – the firebox even features a depiction of burning coal.
The locomotive and tender are connected so that they move together. Inside the model is a gear mechanism that ensures realistic wheel and drive movement – simply give the model a gentle push and the locomotive will start moving. Thanks to the different wheel designs, the model remains stable on the tracks and can also handle curves. The tender is complemented by additional realistic details, torsion bogies, and a coupling for attaching carriages, allowing you to assemble your own train.
The package also includes five straight track sections with a total length of approx. 65 cm. The tracks are made using two-colour injection moulding, with realistic sleepers and rails in a steel-grey shade. They can be attached to building plates and, thanks to a technical hole, permanently anchored in a railway diorama, for example with a screw or nail.
