Moyo Montessori geometric solids with bases and box

Geometric solids with bases and box by Moyo Montessori are a classic Montessori material designed to develop tactile recognition of shapes. The child explores the individual solids in their hands, compares them, and gradually builds an understanding of the differences between shapes, their properties (rolling, sliding, tipping), and the relationship between a solid and its base.

Thanks to the included bases and base cards with shapes, it is easy to practice matching 2D shapes to 3D solids and expand vocabulary (the use of a three-period lesson is recommended). The material also enables other activities – sorting into groups by properties, finding shapes in the everyday environment, or recognizing solids by touch without visual control.

• 10 geometric solids in blue: cube, cylinder, sphere, triangular prism, rectangular prism, triangular pyramid, square pyramid, cone, ellipsoid, ovoid
• Bases for round solids: sphere, ovoid, ellipsoid
