The set contains 22 tablets (11 pairs): red, blue, yellow, green, orange, purple, pink, brown, black, gray, and white. The child matches identical colors, learns their names, and gradually creates a “key” for independent orientation in the world of colors.
Each tablet has a wooden frame on the sides, making it easy to hold by the edge. The Montessori way of working leads the child to gentle handling – they do not touch the colored surfaces, which helps keep the material nice and usable for a long time.
The tablets are stored in a wooden box that supports tidy organization and easy removal of pairs during presentation (e.g., first 3 pairs: two known colors and one new one). Suitable for work at a table as well as on a mat on the floor.
Color Tablets 2 (extended set) follow on from Color Tablets 1 – the basic set. The child works with pairs of tablets and gradually reinforces recognizing shades and the names of colors. Each tablet is set into a wooden frame; for correct work the tablets are held by the wooden edges so that the colored surface remains clean.
The aid supports the child’s independent work and offers natural error control: visually (harmony/disharmony when matching). For best results we recommend good lighting conditions.
